True Worship
The mass is rushing to get into the presence of God without a sacrifice, a mediator, or a wedding garment. There is no reverence for God at the altar. The significance of His sovereignty is missing.
It is impossible to give true homage when the heart has not been closely, and honestly, examined by self, and compared with the heart of God.
We must pray like David, "Examine me, O' LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart." (Psalm 26:2)
When Job encountered God, he said, "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes." (Job 42:5-6)
In the presence of God, Daniel said, "...my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength." (Daniel 10:8)
When Isaiah saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, he cried out, "...Woe is me ! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips..." (Isaiah 6:5)
The presence of God will humble a person and the sense of God's holiness will shame the self-righteous spirit. God's presence will make you sensitive to sin. God is light, and His presence exposes sin. Everything hidden becomes visible.
