The ears of the LORD are open to the prayers of the righteous. God has heard our cry. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, we learn that if we would cry out to God out of a pure heart, then He would "heal the land." However, when we look for deliverance, we see bondage. What is going on?
Jesus said," Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 7:7-11
Sometimes our answers are hard to digest; like a rock, it's difficult to swallow. Or like the bite of a serpent; it's painful to bear. But rest assured, God will withhold no good thing from His children. All things do work together for our good and His glory. Be still; God is at work in the midst of your sorrows and adversities.
Those whom God loves, He chastises. Meaning He disciplines. There is an art to following God: His way. A real disciple of Jesus must deny him/her-self daily, and pick up their cross (whatever burden they are called upon to bear for that day), and follow Jesus. Now, no chastisement for the moment seems good, but afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness. (Hebrew 12:5-11)
God is taking you somewhere. Follow His lead. His plan for you is to prosper you, and to do you good all the days of your life.
