Set a watch at your mind. If you are to have any peace, and any joy, then you must focus your attention on things above and not on things of this earth.
In the world we will have tribulation, but Jesus overcame the world. And, those who look to Him, have peace. His peace is not like the world's peace; a peace that is predicated on external circumstances, but a peace that surpasses all understanding.
It doesn’t make sense. In the midst of chaos, God will hide you in His pavilion. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right side; yet, the pestilence that walks in the darkness, and the destruction that ravages in the daytime, will not come upon you.
We are living in a time wherein our tomorrows are not as solidified as they were yesterday. The plans we made yesterday were aborted today. The foundation on which we stood yesterday, is sinking sand today.
We hear talk of a “new normal”. Our vocabulary has been redefined. Things are not like they use to be. We are living in changing times. Nevertheless; there is a remedy for those whose trust is in the immutable God. God changes not: He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Jesus Christ is the Balm in Gilead. He is the Great Physician who heals all malaises.
God promises us in Psalm 91, that if we set our hearts to seek after Him in love, He will deliver us. He says, because we know His Name (i.e. we have a relationship with Him), He will lift us above our calamities. When we call on Him, He will answer. He will be with us in trouble. He will deliver us and honor us.
God will cause us to walk in victory and prosperity. (Joshua 1:8)
Set a watch at your mind. Put God in remembrance. Then, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD.
