The psalmist, David wrote: "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalms 23:1)
David saw God as his everything. He experienced God as a guide, a protector, a provider, a ruler, an advocate, a teacher, a place of refugee, a doorkeeper, a way maker, a shelter in a storm, a confidant, and as his personal shepherd. He knew that there was nothing he could ever need that God would not provide. David trusted God exclusively.
David did not learn to trust God after becoming king of Israel, but learned to trust God during his many trials and tribulations. It was during these moments of distress that David learned who God is. David would not have been able to slay Goliath if he had not first slain the lion and the bear. It was his knowledge of what God had already done that prepared him for his fight with Goliath, which propelled him into his destiny.
Unless we are willing to defeat the "bears and lions" that confront us each day - those things that steal our peace, and destroy our dreams, and kill our joy - we will never be able to defeat the "Goliath" that stands between us and our destiny.
The LORD is your Shepherd. However, it is your duty to step out on faith and follow Him. You must believe that God will intervene on your behalf to overthrow any hindrance on your path to progress. "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do His good pleasure." Philippians 2:13
God is leading you to greener pasture and still waters. He is leading you to higher grounds: a place of security and provisions.
Don't resist the leading of the Holy Spirit.
